At night, the lights lit up like god’s laughter.

Yesterday was Diwali. Also called Deepavali , it is a major Hindu festival. Known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolises the victory of good over evil, and lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for mankind. The festival of Diwali is also about harvesting. Celebrations focus on lights and lamps, particularly traditional diyas. Fireworks are associated with the festival in many regions of India. Read more here. (Source: Wikipedia)

This was at a friend’s house where I was invited for dinner. It was a lovely evening with delicious food and wonderful company. Thank you Smita! 

Can you hear the roars and moans of the years past? The glorious triumphs versus the spectacular failures. The place echoed with modest hopes and sky high expectations.

Moving on, I’ve made many subtle modifications to the photoblog. Modified the archives page so that it loads faster and made some subtle changes to the main and about pages. More importantly, I’ve added a ‘purchase prints’ link under every photo which takes you to a page listing pricing details. The purpose of this photoblog is not to sell photos and I don’t really expect to sell anything. But if a photo of mine catches your eye and you would like to hang it on a wall in your house do get in touch with me. I’m eyeing a couple of (expensive) lenses and sure could use the extra money 🙂

Thanks for the nice comments yesterday. Coming to today’s photo, played a bit with the color temperature and tint during RAW conversion. Does it seem a little too much?
